Time of my life

This song has been on the radio now for a while, and it's gaining popularity.  It's a catchy song, has a great beginning, but I would argue that the rest of the song has an irritating beat, and poor lyrics.
This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwQZQygg3Lk) song by the Black Eyed Peas.  (I only like the first 36 seconds)
Anyways, the lyrics go something like this..

I've had the time of my life
And I've never felt this way before
And I swear this is true
And I owe it all to you

Often I listen to songs and see how the lyrics apply to my life. (Whether I'd sing along to them and get into the song.. haha) In this case, I really liked the lyrics to this song (for about the first sentence or two)..
Right now, as of "January" 2011, I could honestly say I've had the time of my life.  Definitely something I've never experience in this way (yes, it's true).. And who do I owe it to?  Well, I'm afraid to say there is no "you"..
I owe it to a lot more than one person.  I owe it to my family, my friends, my community.  The weather, opportunities, school, sports. Everything blending together to create what I could consider "the time of my life".  Every day when I train, I feel stronger and stronger, I have things to look forward to, I have friends that I can turn to, I have things to do that keep my mind off the past.  It's not all about parties, and dancing and girls.  For some reason, that's what the music industry seems to focus on (rap and hip hop) and wow do we buy it up these days!  Wooooo that's so cool! haha not really actually.  Why couldn't this song finish strong and have lyrics that talked about meaningful things in life?  Things that actually have a greater impact than the content that these songs focus on these days.   Anyways. All in all, I like the song, It has one line that gets me thinking about my life, and that's enough for me to take a moment and realize what a life I do have and cherish it as well.

Colorado! (Day Nine)

This morning we packed our bags and hit the road for Salt Lake City.  IT was sad to leave the luxurious place that we had called home for the past 4 days. I will miss the hot tub, the snow, the comfortable beds and all that.
Our drive wasn't very eventful, but I do have a few photos from the day.  We stopped by a few places of interest. Dinosaur Park, in Dinosaur, Colorado (it stretches across both Colorado and Utah).
The barn on all the postcards representing Steamboat Springs, CO

Quite an interesting contrast.

Here in Dinosaur, Colorado, the street signs were even named after dinosaurs. I bet the people planning this town had some fun with it. haha

Now into Utah!

We found the giant dinosaur! SO cool!

We found petroglyphs! So cool! These are ancient!

And after leaving there, lots of places latched onto the "dinosaur" theme..

Random wood covered in snow.

We also then stopped by Park City, Utah where the 2002 Winter Olympics were held.  It was so cold today! (still cold, still snow on the ground).

We made it to Salt Lake City and checked out the State Capitol.
Quite a site! Now let's get closer to it!

On Capitol Hill, overlooking Salt Lake City.

The ceiling with the lights hanging down from the center.

Marble!!

Brigham Young! the "man".. haha

Quite a site to see!

And off to bed. It was a long day, pretty eventful for driving all day.. Salt Lake City is cold! I can't wait to get home to warm weather and no more snow! haha

Colorado! (Day Eight)

This morning we drove on over to Vail, Colorado to go snowboarding!  It was a nice (long) drive over, with skies clearing by the time we reached our destination.  After getting ripped off with $25 parking, we made our way on over to the slopes!  This place was expensive, but well worth it!  This place was HUGE!! I can't even begin to tell you how huge this place was! The chairlift ride up to the first stop was like 5 minutes, then ANOTHER ride to another mountain top!  This place made any other ski resort I've been to look like a kiddy park.  Oh, and let me tell you about the weather!  FANTASTIC!  Blue skies, and lots of powder!  I believe they had just received 15 inches of powder that night.  It was quite an experience! (nice when you happened to fall, didn't even feel it).  I'll post some pictures of the drive over, and some while snowboarding :)

That doesn't look good..

On the top of the mountain before we begin snowboarding!

Awesome snow covered trees!!

Incredible views..

Michael getting some air!

Beautiful contrast with the snow and sky!

At the top, untouched snow!

Me snowboarding!

Down one of the runs..

powder!

Amazing views!

It was an incredible, enjoyable time snowboarding at Vail.  I can now say I've snowboarded this season, and in Colorado! :) Awesome..

Colorado! (Day Seven)

Today, oh what a day!  It started off very relaxing, spending time in the room watching shows on T.V and what not, while the snow piled up outside!  Within about 30 minutes the ground went from visible to completely covered with snow!  Here are some photos!
The first photo is what I saw when I woke up

Then, about 20 minutes later!

Even the hot tub was covered around the edges! And the walkways covered with white snow!

Including my bike! (sorry bike for treating you to such bad weather)

Then in the afternoon after it stopped snowing, the wind picked up and blew the existing snow everywhere! (as seen below)

After a while, Michael and I decided to go play in the snow (his idea, a great one!) and this is what we were treated with!  You can't resist playing in snow that looks that great! So soft and fluffy, and just ridiculously fresh!

And, I made the bombest trails to saucer down!! The snow was incredible!

Here are a few photos to prove that I was having FUN!!
This is tiring work! haha

Pretty sure I hit a snow bump

Same for Michael. haha

Too much speed!

Okay, this one's funny because I went so fast that I ended a few inches from my camera that was in Michael's hands! haha good times..

Backwards!

It was a great classic afternoon spent in the snow! :) All you need is a little bit of snow, a saucer and some gravity! So fun! Tomorrow I go skiing at Vail! It's going to be awesome! I can't wait!
